Kaikén Wines from Argentina renews its strategy in United States with the appointment of Arano USA as exclusive national importer

Guided by a premise of innovation and the challenge of opening new paths in high-quality winemaking, Kaikén Wines, from Mendoza, Argentina is pleased to announce an alliance with its brand-new importer, Arano USA, to market and distribute Kaikén Wines throughout the United States.

Based in Miami, Florida, Arano USA is a national importer dedicated to bringing exceptional and authentic wines from around the world to American consumers, and Kaikén Wines is no exception.

The Kaikén Wines portfolio covers several tiers and styles:

Kaikén Estate which includes a Chardonnay, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec Rose, and a Sauvignon Blanc-Semillon 50/50 blend

Kaikén Indómito which includes Indómito Cabernet Franc and Indómito Malbec

Kaikén Ultra which includes a Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Pinot Noir – the first wine in the Kaikén portfolio sourced from Patagonia

Kaikén Wines also produces a prestige red blend called ‘Disobedience by Francis Mallmann’ and a prestige cuvée called ‘Mai’.

Kaikén Disobedience by Francis Mallmann, a red wine blend comprising of 60% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot celebrates a collaboration of many years between well-known Argentinian Chef Francis Mallmann and Kaikén Wines. Known for his distinct style of open fire cooking, ably depicted in the first season of Netflix’s Chef’s Table, Mallman’s unstoppable and unique nature is captured by the name ‘Disobedience’. The grapes are sourced from Kaikén’s vineyards in the Altamira sub region of the Uco Valley and the Vistalba sub region of Luján de Cuyo.

Finally, this Argentinian winery, presents “Kaikén Mai”, its first Icon Wine, a synonym of uniqueness and expertise inherited Kaikén’s founder, Aurelio Montes. Mai, in the language of the Pehuenche, one of the native peoples of Mendoza, means ‘first’, and is produced from Kaikén’s 125-year-old Malbec vineyards in the Vistalba sub region of Luján de Cuyo. Mai is the result of a constant search for excellence.

Owned by Montes of Chile, Kaikén Wines was established in Luján de Cuyo in 2001 although the Kaikén winery actually dates back to 1920. Kaikén owns six hundred acres of vineyards throughout Mendoza: Vistalba and Agrelo in Luján de Cuyo and Los Chacayes in the Uco Valley. Kaikén winery is located in the district of Vistalba and relies on state-of-the-art technology to produce wines that stand out for their elegance and modern style without compromising varietal typicity.

About the Winemaker, Gustavo Hörmann

With an important history at both Montes estates, in Chile and Argentina, Gustavo is a Chilean winemaker who first started working with Viña Montes in 2002. In 2005 he became the Head winemaker at Viña Montes, before moving to Mendoza in 2016 to become head winemaker at Kaikén. Today Gustavo resides in Mendoza with his family.
